
The Namulonge Ladies Open

The Namulonge Ladies Open is back, a two-day medal format tournament held at the iconic Mary Louise Simkins Memorial Golf Club, tailored to challenge and celebrate Uganda’s finest female golfers. Open to players with verified WHS handicap indexes, this competition runs from 23rd to 24th May 2025, with a one-day senior and subsidiary event on the 24th.
Tee times start at 6:30 AM sharp, and strict adherence to the rules — from pace of play to electronic etiquette — will be enforced. Courtesy practice rounds are available on Wednesday, 21st May. The field is open, the draw is random, and no special requests will be accepted.
Entry is UGX 100,000 for Bronze and Silver categories (2 days), and UGX 50,000 for seniors and subsidiaries (1 day). Prizes await top performers across multiple categories — including longest drives, nearest to pin, and daily net and gross winners.
Led by Tournament Director Aine Sheila and Club Captain Dr. Collins Bulafu, the event promises top-tier competition under R&A rules and local course regulations.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION
1. The format of play in the Namulonge Ladies Open shall be full Medal
which requires all players to hole out on each hole played. Failure to do so will
result into disqualification.
2. Players will play off their current handicap index as maintained in the
World Handicap System (WHS). All players must have CDH ID number to be
eligible to participate.
3. Tee times shall start at 6:30am – 2:30pm (last tee time). No tee shall be
allowed past that time. The competition Committee shall, at its discretion, limit
field on basis of handicaps.
4. 5. 6. Entry fee shall be 100,000/= (Bronze & Silver) over the 2 days (23rd & 24th
May) and 50,000/= for Seniors & Subsidiary over 1 day (24th May)
Ties will be determined by count back from holes 18 holes backwards
respectively.
Unwarranted slow play will be rule penalised to the individual player as the
case might be
(Rule 6.5a). Marshalls will monitor the pace of play.
7. Courtesy of the course (Practice Round) will be allowed on Wednesday
the 21st May 2025.
8. No requests for time or whom to be drawn with will be accepted. The draw
will be open and random.
9. The Committee reserves the right to change the conditions of Play, should
these prove
necessary and to arrange and / or alter tee times.
10. Starting times.
◦ Players should report to the starter at least 10 minutes before their posted
tee-off times.◦ The tournament committee reserves the right to make changes to the tee–
off time within 30 minutes of the original scheduled tee–off time.
◦ The starter’s Clock shall be deemed correct.
All scorecards must be completed and submitted within 10 minutes after
completing your
round.
ELIGIBILITY.
• Players must be members of a Uganda Golf Union affiliated Club in
Uganda.
• Only members who enjoy full members’ privileges at their respective clubs
will be eligible.
• The competition committee reserves the right of entry for players who will
not provide evidence of a current valid WHS handicap index.
• The subsidiary event of this tournament is capped at a playing handicap of
28 for men, 36 for Bronze category for ladies.
• Players must be fully paid up at their respective clubs as of 20th May 2025.
Where in doubt, Golf Captains will be requested to confirm the membership
status of players.
• Players must not have had their membership at their home/parent club
terminated for non-payment of any dues unless such dues have since been fully
settled.
• Following the rollout of WHS, only golfers who have carded at least 5
qualifying rounds since the introduction of WHS system will be eligible to play.
Rules and Disputes committee: Play shall be in accordance with the R & A Rules
of Golf andThe Local Rules of Mary Louise Simkins Memorial Golf Club, Namulonge. Any
disputes or protest will be decided by the rules and disputes committee and their
ruling shall be final.
Electronic devices: Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto
the course does not distract other players. If a phone rings (sound on), it is
deemed to be a distraction, and this is a serious breach of etiquette. Penalty for
breach is disqualification.
Competitors must conform to Golf dress code.
Prize giving will take place from 7.00 PM on 24th May 2025 Prizes will be
